Rising Tide Spark Fund for Discovery

We are thrilled to announce the launch of Rising Tide Foundation’s new Spark Fund for Discovery. In addition to our ongoing grant making process, we are offering organizations the opportunity to submit an application for new and innovative projects that enhance AGENCY + FLOURISHING in our societies.
Background
Rising Tide Foundation is aware of the ongoing trends in society that restrict the self-responsibility and agency of individuals, leading to paternalistic and top-down managed environments for our citizens. While we continue to support the efforts of those on the lowest rung of the economic ladder achieve prosperity, there are other areas of our funding focus that are increasingly under threat. Rule of Law issues proliferate around the world and not even Western democracies have been spared. Free speech is being hampered implicitly and explicitly by private industry and governments, even in those countries that have most defended the right to free speech historically. The rising costs of energy lead to a slowdown in economic growth and contraction of individual freedom.
We would like to incentivize the development of new and innovative projects and approaches that counter these developments by cultivating individual agency and responsibility in order to realize a freer and more prosperous society.
We are looking for projects that promote individual freedom as a core component in solving some of the most pressing challenges in society. In particular, we would like to invite projects that:
- Cultivate an environment where Freedom of Speech is protected.
- Preserve and/or enhance Rule of Law.
- Identify and promote the need for cheap and abundant Energy to achieve both economic growth and freedom.
- Propose alternatives to top-down, paternalistic approaches, Empowering Individuals on their pathway to prosperity.
If you have a great idea that you would like to test or a new approach aligned with one of the areas above that requires a pilot, then please apply with a funding request up to USD 25,000 before November 11th 2023.
How does it work?
We are accepting proposals through our grant management system, SmartSimple, under the name “Spark Fund for Discovery”. If you already have an account you can login using your existing information and access the application by clicking on the “Submit Funding Request” button. If you do not have an existing account, you will first need to create one before accessing the homepage.
