“United by the Unique”: Honoring the World Cancer Day
February 04, 2025
The Rising Tide Foundation remains steadfast in its commitment to promoting freedom and enhancing quality of life globally. Our clinical cancer research foundation embodies this vision by funding programs that foster patient-centric research. We are also actively involved in several collaborations that focus on knowledge sharing to encourage patient partner involvement in research. Inspired by the new World Cancer Day campaign 2025-27 “United by Unique” which places people at the center of care and explores new ways of making a difference, we would like to highlight two notable collaborations:
Webinar series with the LUNGevity Foundation (Home | LUNGevity Foundation)
The series illustrates the impact of patient partner contributions to the research process. By using real-world examples, we explore patient-researcher collaborations, showcasing engagement tools and strategies that have worked well for successful patient-researcher partnerships across different cancer areas and patient populations. The latest episode focuses on the POSITIVE study, a breast cancer clinical trial. To learn more, please visit our website: Clinical Cancer Research-Patient Involvement – Rising Tide Foundation
Building a Stronger Patient Advocate Community with GRASP
We are proud to support Guiding Researchers and Advocates to Scientific Partnerships (GRASP) in 2025 in their effort to train and empower highly knowledgeable and experienced patient partners. Through targeted education and skill-building, GRASP will equip advocates with the tools to engage in clinical trials, grant reviews, drug development discussions, and meaningful collaborations with researchers and industry leaders.
By investing in patient partner training, we are strengthening the bridge between those living with cancer and the scientists, policymakers, and industry stakeholders shaping the future of cancer research and treatment.
