Rondine Cittadella della Pace (Rondine) - is an Italian based organization committed to reducing armed conflicts around the world and spreading its own method for the creative transformation of conflicts in every context.

Its objective is contributing to a planet free from armed clashes, in which every person has the tools to manage conflict in a creative and positive way.

Rondine is located in a Medieval Tuscan hamlet, a few kilometres from Arezzo, Italy. Here, the main Rondine projects for education and professional experience are developed. It is a place where human beings are regenerated, so that they can become leaders of themselves and their communities, in a search for the common good.

The project that gave rise and inspiration to Rondine is the Studentato Internazionale – World House: it hosts young people from countries that are the scene of armed conflict or post-conflict and helps them to discover the humanity in their enemy, through the difficult and surprising effort that comes from living together daily.

The World House students arrive in Rondine with a project idea, which they develop further during their two years of residence in the Rondine Programme. This year, with the support of Rising Tide Foundation, Rondine integrated to the World House Program, the project: Enhancing Social Innovation in Conflict-affected Societies.

Contribution to Enhancing Freedom

Through the project Enhancing Social Innovation in Conflict-affected Societies, Rondine tests a new training module, consisting of lessons mainly based on classical liberal concepts. This module is tested with 17 young people, Rondine international students residing in Italy for a high-level training, coming from the following areas: the Middle East, Balkans, North Africa, West Africa, and South Caucasus.

Some of the topics of the module include the following: Wellbeing & Welfare: Freedom and Social Inclusion, Laissez-Faire and Pacifism, Peace, Mutual Advantage & Trade, and others. Moreover, this module will analyze the connection between classical liberalism (with a focus on free market economy) and conflict transformation/peace.
