The Monkey

”The Monkey” is in a busy city with chaos, streets, buildings, supermarkets. The monkey smiles because he has discovered a group of small people, who seems to be happy in the middle of all the city chaos. These people relax and enjoy their life, probably because they are not diagnosed with cancer. The monkey is happy with the sight and takes a snapshot of the people.

I have been diagnosed with breast cancer twice, my husband suffers from prostate cancer, and several family members and close friends have all been lost to cancer. So cancer is very much on my mind all the time.

I have never been educated as a painter, but I enjoy expressing myself with color and shapes on the canvas, and during the process of painting I am often surprised by how the image is able to – almost by itself – express my inner thoughts.
