UFM Voted Number 1 in The Top 50 Places to Study Classical Economics by TheBestSchools

September 30, 2016

Universidad Francisco Marroquin (UFM), is renowned for their strong emphasis on economics and has recently been voted the number one place to study classical economics by TheBestSchools (TBS).

Some institutions included in the list are well known graduate departments in economics that employ Nobel Prize winning economists. Others are prestigious business schools and think tanks.

In 2014 and 2015 Rising Tide Foundation awarded two grants to UFM, both still ongoing. The grants were for scholarship programs to support exceptionally bright and motivated students from local rural provinces who would otherwise not be able to afford an undergraduate degree at UFM’s School of Economic Sciences. Though not complete, the programs have already yielded outstanding results from all participating students.

Founded in 1971 by Manuel F. Ayau, all subjects at UFM are taught from a free market perspective through the work/ economy theories of Friedrich Hayek and Ludwig von Mises. Their mission embraces the ideology and they are dedicated to teachings of the ethical, legal, and economic principles of a free market society.
