RTFCCR Presence at the St.Gallen International Breast Cancer Conference 2025 in Vienna, Austria

April 24, 2025

Earlier this month, Alexandre Alencar and Zoraide Granchi from the Rising Tide Foundation for Clinical Cancer Research (RTFCCR) team attended the 19th St. Gallen International Breast Cancer Conference in Vienna. At the conference, Alexandre and Zoraide had an opportunity to learn about the latest discoveries in early-stage breast cancer, and forge valuable connections within the breast cancer community.

Professor Beat Thürlimann, RTFCCR’s Board Deputy, helped organize the conference. In his opening speech, he reminisced about the event’s humble beginnings and marveled at its growth and impressive broad international reach.

During the conference, the RTFCCR team was proud to see one of their grantees, Professor Walter Weber, chair several panel discussions, deliver the Hansjoerg Senn Memorial Lecture, and announce the winner of the St. Gallen Breast Cancer Award 2025.

The RTFCCR team also met with various patient partner organizations, including Europa Donna. Their representative, Mrs. Tanja Spanic, delivered a heartfelt speech on the importance of involving patient partners in clinical research and acknowledged RTFCCR as a prime example of foundations supporting this approach.

RTFCCR remains committed to supporting impactful clinical cancer research with patient partner involvement at its heart and look forward to the 20th iteration of the St. Gallen International Breast Cancer Conference next year.
